Do you love the thrill of a challenge?

Then this could be for YOU!

A simple outline of the idea behind the event

Game of Quilts is all about teams completing a quilt from the first cut to the last stitch on the label during

the 7 hours that the Festival of Quilts is open each day.

The quilts must measure between 48" and 60" in any direction (1.20 and 1.50 metres) and be designed for a child.

The teams have complete freedom over their designs but you will be given a set block to include in the design and construction of the quilt top. This is the starting point for a special quilt which will allow all the skills and talents of the members of your team to shine.

Any style, technique and material is permitted as long as it is a practical child's quilt.  The fabrics for the quilts will be supplied by the teams and the choice of colours is entirely yours. Sewing machines and all other equipment will be provided for each team. The teams will work in full view of visitors so that they could watch your progress and engage in conversation.

This is not a competition and there is no knock-out of teams.  All are winners in that you will achieve something very special in aid of a very special cause. The quilts will be handed to Project Linus at the end of the Festival to be given to children in Birmingham Children's Hospital.

This event is supported by Twisted Thread/Upper Street Events and our many sponsors.
